What to do before a hurricane or tropical storm
- Have a plan
- Keep informed and stay safe
- Charge your devices
- Protect the outside of your home
- Keep windows and doors closed
- Secure points of entry from water penetration
- Secure other structures and outdoor items
- Protect the inside of your home
- Confirm that your sump pump is working
- Move high value items to higher ground
- Raise appliances and keep refrigeration units closed as often as possible
- Move your vehicle(s) to higher ground
- Do not drive your vehicle(s) through flooded waters
- Create a list of your belongings
- Take pictures/videos of the items in your home along with any serial or model numbers and store on a secure cloud drive
- Secure important documents

If you sustained damage to your property, take the following measures:
- Report your claim online or by calling 1-800-367-6564
- Take pictures and inventory of your damaged property
- Make temporary emergency repairs only
- Make temporary emergency repairs that mitigate the damage and make your home safe and livable
- Do not make any cosmetic repairs before speaking with your adjuster
- Save receipts for any mitigation expenses
