Equip Yourself With a Winter Car Emergency Kit

Winter storms present the risk your vehicle may become disabled or stuck in the snow. Be prepared this winter by equipping your vehicle with a car emergency kit. Here are 10 items you should have in your car emergency kit:

1. Portable charger with extra batteries

2. Blankets to stay warm

3. Snow brush, ice scraper, and shovel

4. Water and snack food

5. First aid kit with any necessary medications

6. Ice melt and/or kitty litter to help tires get traction

7. Booster cables with fully charged battery or jumper cables

8. Flashlight with extra batteries

9. Hazard or other reflectors

10. Bright colored emergency distress flag, and/or emergency flare
